Reviews

This class was really easy to get an H1 in as the multiple choice nature was extremely straight forward. Basically just do the readings and the 5 question comprehension thing, it’s not hard if you can use your brain.

Fantastic subject, really light workload, practicable knowledge, and amazing lecturer (Tanya)

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2020

Not an easy 'H1' breadth, you truly need to understand the content and put in the effort if you want to maximise your results. Don't expect to get a high mark without the effort

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2019

Great subject! Very interesting content, and knowledge can be applied to real world situations. Not hard to get an H1 if you keep up with the readings and are consistent. Tutors were great with helping out with problems. That being said, there were no tutorials this semester, and face-to-face interactions with other students was non-existent. Hopefully it will be better for next semester.

Took this subject during first year, first semester. Highly disagree with the reviews below, I personally found topics interesting and found it fairly easy to achieve a H1. Lecturer Tanya is amazing, she makes lectures interesting / funny and really breaks down the topics. If you are someone who did Legal Studies in VCE, then you will find the first few topics really really easy. Topics towards the end were still simple, just requires you to study / read textbook / watch lectures. Highly recommend this subject to anyone wanting to increase their WAM.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2019

Content was interesting overall, but the final exam was difficult and it made my WAM dropped

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2019

Dont be deceived that this is a WAM booster subject! It can get super dense and the final exam is so hard. My WAM was brought down so much by this

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2019

I really did not like this subject as a science student taking a breadth. The lecturer was great and really entertaining, though at its core it wasn't for me. I am a cautionary tale in blindly taking subject recommendations based on "WAM boosters".

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2017

The subject content is quite relevant and practical. The assessments are also very easy to handle and if you keep up with all of the lectures and reading scoring high is certainly not a huge problem.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

The subject's content is interesting and quite relatable to daily life, but the lecturer's voice can knock you out cold faster than an elephant tranquilizer. Overall, you'll gain quite a balance experience.
