This subject covers microbiology, parasites, human evolution, disease control and genetics. You literally have to memorise almost every fungus, bacteria, protist, hominin in the lectures so make sure you do that before exams as they will ask you questions like "What class of protists is Plasmodium?" The content is very interesting and straightforward. Practicals are a pain and I found them quite boring but they are easy marks. Tutorials are useful as they go through practice problems. The 8am lectures can be a bit of a drag but you get used to it. Or you could always watch them online. Overall, interesting and well organised subject.

Interesting.

Very similar to VCE Biology, specifically the first 6 weeks of the course. Meiosis, mitosis and structure of cells are all crucial parts in biology. Practicals are relatively straightforward and easy to achieve at least 80% in, just don't forget to do your post prac. Not many past exams provided, only one, although the on-line resources are quite useful. Overall a neat subject, with not many surprises involved.
