Hello! My name is Sophie. I'm currently studying Doctor of Medicine(MD2) at the University of Melbourne and have completed a Bachelor of Science and Honours project in Evolutionary Biology. My WAM for my undergrad is 86. Melbourne University currently employs me as a tutor for ITAS and i have 4 years of experience tutoring tertiary subjects. I have an average H1 for my course and have achieved an H1 in all subjects that I tutor. As well as the listed subjects I also tutor for the GAMSAT. I have sat the GAMSAT 3 times, improved an average of 10 points for each section over my successive attempts, and scored within the top 95th percentile overall( 96th percentile, 98th percentile and 90th percentile for S1, S2 and S3 respectively). I can succinctly pinpoint high-yield areas for improvement resulting in great results even with time constraints. I am able to mark S2 essays and provide assistance approaching S1 and S3 questions. I am also able to provide MMI preparation sessions for those sitting upcoming medical interviews. I can advise on the best practice for approaching and structuring answers. I also aim to give insight into how to best characterise your individuality under time-restrictive conditions. I have an extremely collaborative teaching style and love to make a session engaging and fun. For me, passion is the key to learning and remembering. This, combined with appropriately structured content and the application of the information, is what I find, helps students the most. I also like to structure my teaching style around your personal learning style I can assist in scientific essay writing, historical essay writing, and exam preparation in numerous neuroscience and psychology subjects.
