Reviews
This unit is only an easy HD if you did Year 11 Economics as most of the concepts of Microeconomics are retaught in this unit. However, even if you did do this subject in high school you should still be warned as the second half of the unit's content is completely different to what is taught in high school. For most people, this unit is compulsory as part of the Commerce degree however if you are doing this unit as a means of an easy HD or to possibly gain a stronger understanding of business, I would not recommend. There are better units out there. This unit is only HDable if you did economics in high school. Although I found the exams and the quizzes fairly okay, I can only say this because I've already learnt Economics in high school. I found the lecturer quite lazy in all honesty, as 80% of the content are taught from Youtube videos made by the lecturer three years ago. This unit was mostly a self-learn subject and when asking the unit lecturer for any help whether it is regarding assessment feedback or help on the content, the lecturer gives a very vague and unhelpful response. The positive reviews that were written before me are quite interesting because I did not have a similar experience and I know many students who believe the same.

This was my favourite unit! Inga is an excellent lecturer who was able to transition this unit seamlessly online during COVID. The quizzes were mostly fair, however be warned that there were some questions where it covered concepts from the textbook but not the lectures. The mid semester exam and the final exam were a breeze. I really enjoyed the assignment even though it contained a few twists. My only gripe was that because of the pandemic we couldn't enjoy face to face interactions during the tutorials, which were conducted via Zoom instead. A lot of the tutorials felt like mini-lectures, however I completely understand that all of us were placed in quite a chaotic semester. Overall, highly recommend this unit if you want an HD!

Easy unit, content are all from A level economics. If you have no background in economics, it won't be too bad either but make sure to keep track of all the lectures because you will find that it moves quite fast.

Great unit got an HD. Adnan is a great tutor and his style made the tutorials very interesting. Inga, although may not seem to be explaining some concepts very explicitly, she is actually excellent if you listen carefully and study the textbook deeply. Some concepts might be based on Australian high school concepts which I have never learnt before so international students may find it hard to learn at first. Textbook is great resource, also tutorials are important.

Unit was fairly easy one you got the hang of the diagrams and explanations to go with them. However I didn't like the fact that there was hardly any practise questions for the mid sem and final exam, and the unit coordinator Inga could take a while to reply to questions on the discussion board, or would give very vague answers. If you watch all the lectures and keep up with tute questions you should still be fine.

Interesting, well-run unit. Andrew Williams is a great lecture and explained everything well. The group assignment (20%) was easy, the mid-sem (25%) was fairly straightforward and the final (40%) was doable also. The weekly quizzes (15%) were useful in getting you to keep up with the unit, my only gripe was that there were sometimes quiz questions that were covered in the textbook but not in the lectures.

Really interesting unit.

It is an interesting unit but there is a lot of assessments given and you need to be on top of every single week. Content can sometimes be challenging/ confusing.

Easy, especially if you did econs in high school but otherwise it's pretty logical to follow. Requires some effort due to weekly quizzes
