As someone who got VERY low in HSC Chemistry and absolutely hated every living moment of it, I can confidently say that this unit was a 100 times more manageable! I ended up with a distinction and couldn't be happier!! Content and labs were really worth it + it was structured quite well!

It was a great subject that helped me understand a lot of basic functions of chemistry!

Basically HSC Chemistry with extra content added. Lecturers and worksheets explained everything clearly and this is coming from someone that HATED HSC Chemistry. Online labs were a bit dull though.

Great unit for those starting Chemistry! May be tiring, most face-to-face required but it is not difficult for those who have previously done HSC Chem.

Really good; although Canvas was a newly put in mode of organising the structure of the course/s I had this semester 2018, they organised CHEM1A really well. If you take this subject and you have done HSC Chemistry, it's not going to be a breeze but you are more than capable of passing, regarded that you do the extra resources such as Scilearn (in links per week via Canvas) and/or Khan Academy etc.

Adrian George is a world class lecturer. This was a challenging course in Summer school for someone who had not done chemistry for a long time - However Adrian makes it worth doing as he is a genuinely nice guy. It helps that he is an excellent lecturer & communicator- he cares that you understand what he is teaching & answers problems very well. The practical component was well run with Adrian and Rhema as tutors.
