Hi everyone, I'm a medical student at the University of Sydney tutoring for the MCAT (B/B and C/P sections) and college-level general chemistry and biology. I'm a first-year medical student who travelled across the world to study medicine at the University of Sydney. I was originally in research and academia studying autism and ADHD in young children back in California before I realized I wanted to work with the families and kids at a community-level. Learning can be slow and it can be hard, but it's important that learning is supported. I aim to support each of my students and mentees. I hope everyone leaves my tutoring sessions feeling like they understand more about the world. I put a lot of emphasis on understanding and practice over rote memorization. We will go through the theory and content, and then apply the knowledge to practice questions. I will provide resources and notes as necessary. I've tutored college-level calculus and chemistry in the past and received a 515 on the MCAT (99th percentile in bio/biochem and 96th percentile in chem/phys section). A lot of the MCAT is keeping cool and learning the strategy of the exam. Each lesson will last an hour. The first half of the lesson will be going over any questions and difficulties with content and the second half will be working out practice questions together. I tailor my teaching to the student's learning. If this method doesn't work for you, we will figure out a way that works best.
