Accounting and Financial Management is an introduction to financial reporting, and the gateway unit to further study in accounting. This unit builds upon the accounting context, presented in BUSS1030 Accounting, Business and Society, and aims to develop the technical skills to record basic business transactions through accounting systems. In addition to this technical focus, specific attention is given to the way in which the accounting information can be used to undertake financial management and analysis, to give students the ability to produce and interpret financial reports.

Really good lectures and tutorial. Both the lecturers provide heaps of support and enthusiasm in the lectures! Great foundation, strong start to the accounting unit.

The most organised and heavily resources provided course I have taken so far. Highly recommend taking as a junior unit. Staff were all extremely efficient and supportive and feedback was given very fast.

It continues from BUSS1030. Dry content: double entry system, balance sheet, income statement. However, the content is quite useful overall. Just need to practice a lot and you will get used to Dr/Cr, what goes into balance sheet, income statement. Just a lot of different rules to memorise and apply.

Very well-run unit, but make sure you know the theory - the final exam's usually a killer.

The content is extremely straight forward, very easy to understand. Minor drawback is the final exam is very heavily theory based. Quite conceptual at times.
