Reviews

Decent WAM-booster if you're particularly interested in the topics and are good at writing a standard psych lab-report.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2021

The subject did not live up to its expectations, especially when it comes to interesting concepts I'd have loved to learn about personality. Contents can be dry with lots of memorisation.

This subject was disappointing. It was basically a repeat of MBB2 personality/social psychology. We literally repeated 90% of the topics/content which made for a bore. The lab report was marked very harshly for some reason. The group presentation was the very next week after the lab report was due, which is very bad organisation, especially because the lectures on the presentation topics (prejudice, self, nudges) had not even been delivered yet!!! The saving grace of this subject was the MCQ exam which was super duper easy.

This subject was pretty interesting! the two hour lectures were a bit long and dry at times but the content got better further through the semester. The lab report was very doable and although the marking was a bit harsh I felt most of the feedback I got was fair. The lab report is due quite quickly after semester starts so don't wait too long to get it started, and there is also an in class presentation assignment you have to look out for, it's pretty easy to do well on that too. The exam is multiple choice too which is great, it wasn't too hard. All in all, I really enjoyed it and if you're looking for a slightly less intense psych option in second semester I would highly recommend.

the content of this subject was quite good, however i personally think that social psychology is the stronger and better part of the lectures. the personality lectures were good, but there was SO MUCH emphasis on previous studies like one small part of a lecture would have so many different studies contributing to it. the lab report was okay, it was definitely marked harshly though. however, the exam was really fair and not as hard as i thought, and the group assignment (a debate) was also marked leniently (w/ a peer review in case your group members suck)

content was good. assignments were pre good too. the exam was alright not too hard thankfully. the teaching for the stats though need to be better.

Interesting subject, well taught as well. A bit vague at times. Less common, but sometime a bit dry.

Good subject - honestly I wish they had presented more content than they did. Assignment was a great learning experience, and exam was easy to pull up my grade.

I really liked this subject! Some lecturers do have a more of a story telling style which can be hard to follow but the content was really interesting! The lab report was challenging but I liked picking out what i wanted to focus on.

Very interesting subject in year 2 Psychology, especially the Social Psychology parts. Personality parts would need a bit of memorising but it always help the most with decent understandings. My tutor was very friendly and helpful. Would be a good elective subject to do as well.
