Very interesting and engaging, but incredibly content heavy. BE PREPARED to notetake everything the lecturer says, even if its not on the slides and brush up on your biological knowledge.

This was a very interesting and engaging course, although it was heavy on content. The Mt Gravatt lecturer was very good, and very helpful as well. The exams are fairly straight-forward if you know the content, so constant revision and being on top of the readings is very helpful. The lab report can be very tricky, so going to the tutorials is definitely recommended, as they go over a lot of stuff in the lab report i.e. formatting, content, and use your tutors and lecturer's consults as well.

The course content taught by different lecturers on Gold Coast campus was great. When the subject was taught by the normal convener be prepared to get really annoyed. Not only was she not confident in her knowledge, the exam content was based on things that specifically where said were NOT going to be on the exam. This course would be alot better with a new convener who had a better understanding of the content, better delivery methods and didn't say um every second word. Appalling and it's embarrassing for School of Psychology to run a course so poorly.

Fascinating course and very engaging course convenor. The lab report assignment was challenging, so make sure you get started early/ask your tutor for clarification early on.

An engaging, albeit heavy course. You'll learn about foundational components of the brain, their functions, interactions, and possible disorders, as well as learn famous case studies (Phineas Gage, HM etc). Come time to begin the assignment, it is advisable to see you tutors and ask as many questions as possible. Note you can not actually give them a draft to mark, rather ask them specific questions.

Loved this subject, very science orientated, sets up great base knowledge for further subjects. Interesting lectures, good tutorials, fairly simple exam if you know your content. Overall a very good first year subject.
