To a point I felt like what I was learning was kind of useless, as a portion of it introduces you to the concept of the metaphysical. This means for those who do not ponder questions such as "If that chair over there really exists, or if it is a figment of my imagination" then avoid it and learn something more practical. Also, our tutor was more centred on the ancient history of philosophy (Socrates, Plato, etc) and I was hoping for something more contemporary like Singer. So it was a slight borefest. There were a few concepts that did aid me, such as a bit of critical thinking, and themes related to other core units, but I would not say that this unit is essential. It was, however, pretty easy to pass and there is a lot of different themes each week to cover.
