Reviews

Do NOT take this unit. Unit coordinator and tutor (same person) is terrible, he bullies students and is often inappropriate and sexist. Lectures are just him reading out sections from the Acts without any clear or helpful explanation. You may as well just read the slides. Tutorials are appalling. No one wants to speak out of fear of him targetting you for saying a single incorrect word. Tute work answers are never given out or written out by him so you NEVER have model responses to review prior to the exam. If you have had a bad experience in this unit. Please report it/make a formal complaint. University is not cheap, and you deserve better than this unit.

Samuel Raj is the Unit Coordinator and Tutorial administrator for this unit. He does not answer questions, he has uncompromising and rigid answer expectations and will verbally degrade a student if they ask a clarifying question or do not answer to his mental template. He has singled students out to bully. He is sexist and inappropriate during recorded lectures and tells everyone this is the way he is and to get over it. This is an optional unit, so do yourself a favour and do not take this unit unless he has left UWA. Formal complaints have been made. The content itself is interesting, its a real shame.

The content was interesting and only somewhat difficult towards the end of the semester when you start to learn about documentary credit however the lecturer rarely finished lectures on time as he would go off topic regularly and so each lecture would begin with the end of the one before. The lecturer was not particularly good at answering questions either.
