Reviews
This subject was a good introduction to some of the basic concepts in physics. The material was taught in three modules - mechanics, thermal physics and waves/oscillations. The mechanics unit is quite dry and some of the concepts (rotational motion/angular momentum) can be a little hard to wrap your head around at first. The other two modules were a bit more interesting. The lecturers were generally pretty good at explaining the information. The tutorials for this subject are as good as you want to make them. The class is split up into groups of four and given a worksheet to do which consist of conceptual, demonstration and mathematical questions. These are usually quite useful, and make for good exam revision. The labs are pretty bland for the most part. The experiments themselves are pretty easy, but there's often a lot of calculation involved. Make sure you pay attention in week one when you learn about uncertainties, otherwise they will make labs quite unpleasant for the rest of the year!

So much fun, intersting but the lectures can be a bit dull depending on lecturer

Mastering physics was very annoying! My lecturer was very quick and skipped a lot of steps. Interesting content though. Getting help from a tutor will help you out before the exam

very hard course - need better course structure for students to learn! masteringphysics is useless!
