they're definitely improving the grade weightings!! in my time, they changed the occasional tutorial quiz from one-attempt, 15 minutes to unlimited time and attempts, which reflected how poorly students did initially but also how receptive this unit is to feedback. honestly saved me! the unit follows the textbook almost page for page, but the lecturers make it interesting. Alastair started his lectures with a news article that connected the content we would learn with its real life applications and that really helped me feel the economics was useful and based in reality. Pablo walked around the lecture theatre and tried to engage us with examples and questions. economics at uni is heavily based in maths with a lot of linear equations and graphs and finding points of intersection, area, gradients etc. if you loved high school economics that doesn't mean you'll love it in university but it will help you with the content. there's a lot of overlap in content and terms.

Fundamental Microeconomics course that is pretty easy to follow as Marian writes her notes as she lectures in class.

A basic good subject

Pretty easy course if you have HSC economics background. Need to learn graphs and a bit of calculation but not tricky.

Would of been better if lecturer did not just read the powerpoint :)

Not pretty good. Especially for mini essay.
Anonymous, Semester 2, 2017
Assignments were a little disjointed; in particular, the mini-essay was bizarre, with very little in the way of guidelines or explanations of what they actually wanted. A lot more math involved than Macro, which I felt was overall a more consistent and 'put-together' unit.
