This unit builds on FINC2011 Corporate Finance I, by extending basic concepts in corporate financing, investing and risk management. The unit presents current theories of corporate financing and their practical application in corporate investment and capital budgeting. The unit also examines securities and securities markets with an emphasis on pricing, investment characteristics and their use by corporations to manage risk. The securities examined include: bonds and related fixed income products; futures and options.

Extremely difficult subject and the marking is a bit harsh on the assignment.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2016

Challenging subject, but not as hard as everyone said. This course is basically an extension on Crop I (FINC2011), and the first 2 weeks are recap of CAPM (which comes handy) Personally, I feel like this subject that either makes you hate or like finance.

the group assignment sucks.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2014

very useful, but very challenging. exam was fair but hard as were all assessments. do not attempt unless you're keen on a finance major, it will sort the good from bad very well.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2015

Challenging course. Exam will cover all topics and will be tougher and trickier than tutorial questions. Do not underestimate the multiple choice questions in mid-semester. Group report requires a lot of effort and it's advisable to focus on topics that will be covered in the course rather than going off-track doing complex calculations of senior units. Always check the course outline because sometimes the topics of the report will only be covered at the end of the semester after the assignment is submitted.

Some topics can be challenging. Don't make the mistake of skipping over topics and hoping they won't be in the exam... the exam is quite comprehensive
