The lectures were fun but heavily focused on discussion of the readings, rather than content. The readings were generally very interesting - and one of them was engaging enough that it actually got me to go volunteer for the state election - but a bit disconnected from one another. The in-class election presentation is a great idea, but the details of the final assignment weren't communicated very clearly. Definitely recommend this class, but cross your fingers for a good tutorial group.

Loved this subject. Did it during the federal election so it was really fun to track different electorates. Learnt a lot about electoral systems around the world and Australia.

The lecturer in this subject is very good and engaging and the tutors are very helpful with assignments. The only issue I had was that I found it a bit difficult to find academic resources for the kind of information they wanted us to talk about in the assignments so research was pretty hard.

I did this subject as a mid-semester intensive. I wasn't looking forward to it at all since I generally dislike politics and I wasn't keen on spending everyday in a classroom throughout my midsem break. But the lecturers made it really fun and the week went by super fast. The assessments are a little tough if you don't have a strong background in politics, like me, but all in all the classes equip you well for the assignments and the topics are interesting and relevant.
