Quite easy-going, the lectures are really interesting and present on a wide range of aspects of the music industry. The quizzes make for an easy bit of your grade, however the essay at the end will be a huge drag if you're not interested in music business. Although I did well, it was genuinely painful writing a 2400 word essay on copyright since it involved reading legal documents which are possibly the most boring pieces of writing known to man. My tip for future subject-takers: pick something you know you can write about and you'll be fine.

Grade: 87 (H1). If you are looking for an easy H1 wam booster with minimal effort. This is the subject to do. There is a weekly quiz every week (10 in total) that is 4 multiple choice questions which you can use ctrl+f on the lecture slides to find the answer and this is a free 40% of your grade. Meaning the other 60% you only need a 70 for a H1 overall. The final assessment is a 2300 word essay which is due at the end of the semester (usually end of first week of exam period). You can research about any topic related to the course. In terms of marking as long as you follow the rubric and put in effort it is quite easy to do well especially if you aced the quizzes like I did. There is only 1 2-hour recorded lecture every week that I did not watch at all. I did the entire essay the night before it was due and still pulled out a good grade. However, this final assessment does require most of your effort as there is a lot of writing and research required but I was able to do it without any knowledge and submitted it last minute (literally). So take this as a breadth if you are looking for a bludge subject.

Take this subject if you want an easy H1. 40% of your final mark is 4 multiple choice questions per week on the lecture content and the lecturer is an easy marker. The content is also ridiculously easy and really the only expectation of you the entire semester is to do your quizzes and hand in your final assignment as the 2-hour lecture is the only class per week and is not mandatory to attend. I put in about 20 minutes to this class per week: 15 minutes to read through the lecture powerpoint and 5 minutes (if that) to do the quiz. Drawbacks, however, are that the lecturer literally just uses this subject to gloat about the D-List celebrities that he's met and that is all you will hear about all semester. The lecturer was very unorganized and frequently had no idea what was going on. When he first talked to us about our final assignment, someone asked when it was due and to that he responded "what do I look like, a diary?" and preceded to tell the person to find it on canvas despite there being no information about the assignment up on canvas at that time. Lecturer tried very hard to come off as "the cool lecturer that doesn't care" but often times just looked like an arse. Would still take this subject again knowing what I know now, simply because of how easy it is and how little time is required for it.
