Absolute waste of time and money, I'm amazed that it even still exists. It's just proof that they don't even read the subject surveys lmao. But yeah I basically feel like I gained zero value from this subject. The lecturers were arrogant and unintelligent, with their slides having basically nothing to do with the assignments. And then they act insulted when we don't show up to their shitshow lectures, and circulate emails such as "20% of students will fail assignment 3" to the tutors (true story btw). Not to mention that the assignments are marked extremely harshly, and you'll lose random marks with no feedback left right and centre pretty much. If you're a new student who got ~45 raw in VCE English, you can expect around a 70 in this subject with a lot of effort and frustration. My honest advice would be to invest a lot of effort into finding a tutor that seems chill/like that would give good marks (i.e. attend 5 different tutorials in the first week), because that's realistically what determines 90% of your experience in this subject. If you get a tutor that doesn't care you're basically guaranteed a bad mark no matter what. But I guess it does give you a taste of what unfairness is like which could be valuable for some people

Hate this subject. Would give it a 0/5. They mark the assignments so harshly, and hate the group work, assignments are so vague, and pointless. This subject makes me want to kms. Don’t understand why I have to spend $5k on this subject. Rather do something else, but it’s compulsory for some reason. Edit: Not bad ig 78

I wouldn’t say I love this unit. But I like it enough and learned plenty about commerce and how the world works. I have heard lots of bad experience/ comments from my friends but honestly depending on who your tutors are, it makes big differences. My tutor was a breath of fresh air compared to the others. She is also kind, friendly and supportive of all of us in her class. Tutorials makes 80% of your experience in this units— choose your tutors carefully! I was lucky enough to get Shamira as my tutor and she even helped me adapt to uni and gave me heaps of advice outside of this unit :)

Im doing this subject as the first group of commerce students pursuing it as a requirement. And I must say that the subject is extremely time consuming, meaningless and poorly planned but still managed to cost you nearly $6k for it. The subject mainly covers ethics and commerce disciplines (actuarial, accounting, management, marketing, economics, finance) and there are hurdle discussions along with very stupid grading system for attendance. The assignments' instructions were so vague which took me and my partner a long time to actually got the hang of it. The tutors are mostly postgraduates so they are young, friendly and attentive but their feedbacks and grading are so confusing. The tutorials are literally the most boring thing during this semester because all you have to do is discussing and coming up with ideas on different issues like a debate club in high school lol. I haven't attended a single workshop and skipped my tutorials most of the time but still got a H1 for the subject up till now so i would recommend it if you are too desperate to boost ur WAM, or else if its not a requirement then please go for the more interesting ones that actually teach you something. If I have one wish, i would accept my offer a semester earlier so that i don't have to waste my time and energy on this subject
