Very interesting but challenging! Content is dense, Piers Howe is incredible as is Olivia Carter. Students will enjoy the variety of this subject but you really need to stay with all the subject material to be able to do well in the exam.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

I was a bit scared about bio psych as it seemed too sciencey for me. However, it was well coordinated and well taught. Bode made the stats and brain imaging content more easy to understand and Carter's lectures on chemicals in the brain were really fascinating

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

It is well-coordinated with interesting content, particularly helpful if you have a science background.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

The content is the best you'll ever get from a psych subject. However, the assignment content is boring and repetitive.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

A well-coordinated subject, designed to expose students to more neurological and chemical aspects of Psychology. Can be a little tricky, but well worth it.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2018

I really enjoyed this subject. For me, the exam was a bit tricky - a few minor details from lectures slipped me up - definitely focus on the details when studying! Enjoyed the lab report and the lecture content.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2015

My favourite subject I've done in undergrad. Covers a range of extremely interesting topics (psychopharmacology, sleep and emotions, neurobiology of memory, brain imaging, stats) and the lecturers are extremely engaging and know their stuff. Some parts might be slightly difficult for those without a science background but for the most part it's very manageable and highly interesting. Very much recommended.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

The subject was coordinated very well and we had a lot of support with the assignment (lab report).

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

It is highly important in this subject to understand the basics from the beginning - get the foundations down regarding the biology behind it and it will become alot easier in the end! Spend some extra time making sure you truly understand what is being taught.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2017

Fantastic for science students. I really enjoyed the design of the subject, which used major studies to illustrate concepts.
