H1 (90%) FAMILY LAW - COMPREHENSIVE NOTES FROM LECTURES/READINGS
Subject notes for UniMelb LAWS50047
Description
The following is an extremely thorough compilation of all Family Law elective course materials as taught by Belinda Fehlberg and Juliet Behrens. They include both assigned readings and detailed notes from the class lectures/seminars (that's right, I did all of the readings and took meticulous notes so that you don't have to)! The topics covered in these notes are: - Introduction to the Australian Family Law 'System' - Legal Regulation of 'Family' Relationships: Formation/Dissolution - Family Violence - Parenting Disputes (empirical background, legal framework, specific issues, reform) - Post-Separation Financial Disputes: Policy/Socio-Economic Context - Dividing Property Under the Family Law Act - Spousal and De Facto Partner Maintenance Why are THESE notes fantastic? They are well-organized, detailed but concise, beautifully colour-coded with visual aids to help guide your learning, and key concepts in each topic are highlighted to grab your attention should you need to skim. I have also embedded relevant provisions from the Family Law Act directly into the notes so you won't have to constantly open up Austlii. And perhaps most crucially, there is a lot of useful content here to help you brainstorm for the essay component of your final assessment. Cuz let's face it - exam essay prep is the pits! About me: I am an H1 student who finished with the top mark in my Family Law class. I am also a judge's associate in the Federal Circuit and Family Law Court of Australia so Family Law is an area I understand very well. *PLEASE NOTE:* 1. Family law is an area of law which is constantly evolving due to changing societal values and influence from other jurisdictions. You should ensure you have the most up-to-date notes possible. 2. I have also created a hypothetical exam schematic which is sold separately. It is equally thorough and will be so so useful to you on your final exam. It did wonders in helping me move steadily through the hypothetical component of the exam.
