Reviews
Please don't do this unit unless you really know your biology! Too much content to remember and extremely dry. Please avoid Tova as a lab TA at all costs! She's extremely harsh when it comes to marking and very biased.

good unit, well structured, easy D or HD

Pretty easy if you did Bio in year 12

Haven't done a Biology or Science unit in a few years and this unit was very content heavy but easy to follow if you kept up with the workload. Readings are a pain but crucial to understanding the topics and would recommend getting the text book too. The labs were a lot of fun!

Too many lecturers and some just read off the slides.

Pretty similar to VCE Biology with a few extra topics and deeper concepts such as some of the chemistry behind certain processes. Just do all of your reading even if it takes forever. Some of the lecturers are great but some were very boring. Labs are not that exciting but not boring, but the group lab project at the end is a pain especially if you didn't get a good lab bench.

Basically a revision of VCE unit 4 content, except for the last couple of weeks of the semester. Anyone who didn't do VCE unit 4 biology struggled, as much of the content was covered rapidly

This unit was great. I learnt so much from this and I also loved the lab sessions. Highly recommend this unit. There is a lot you need to memorize if you wanna score high. So don't do this if you are looking for an easy elective. But if you are planning on majoring in something related to biology, then this unit is a must. I loved it and I am sure you will love it too.

really good unit for those who havent done VCE bio; for those who have, it's a great way to jog your memory. most of the lecturers were engaging and they covered the lecture materials nicely.

Lectures and labs easy to follow, however some lecturer's presentations were way too detailed when 90% of their content wasn't even relevant or seen on the exam.
