Hi there! I'm Luis, a research micobiologist with a Bachelor of Science from Monash with first class honours (graduated top of my cohort). I double-majored in Genetics and Microbiology. Most importantly for you guys, I was employed by the university for 5 years to tutor Biology as a PASS leader, so I have extensive experience leading group tutorials at a tertiary level.
I know the first year Bio units exceptionally well (BIO1011 and BIO1022), and can guide you through both lecture content and assist with assignments and improving your scientific writing.
Additionally, I am also self-taught in Spanish, achieving conversational fluency over a 6 year period. I have lived and travelled in South America for a year, and am the son of Spanish immigrants. I have recently begun teaching introductory Spanish to students, and so despite never having taken ATS1191 or ATS1192, I believe my strong grounding in instructing students on the basics of written and oral Spanish will be of great value to those of you enrolled in these units at Monash.
I use visual aids and diagrams, a collaborative real-time whiteboard to improve our interactions online, and explanations and questions with reference to real world examples to communicate concepts to my students. I am very happy to tutor online or to meet in-person, provided that all participating are vaccinated.
I am also not looking to price gouge you here - I understand that you guys are students and aren't made of money, so I aim to set my prices lower than most. I am willing to conduct lessons with yourself and up to 2 of your peers/friends. Each person will receive a $5 discount for every other person in the lesson, up to a total of 3.

1 Person - $35 per hour per person
2 People - $30 per hour per person
3 People (Max) - $25 per hour per person
