Most difficult economics unit and I don’t think it needs to be. The lecturer Chris is good but he teaches the content like we already know it. He could’ve done a better job by speaking in more simple understandable terms rather than hardcore econometrics. The concepts are difficult and the assignment was also hard. The exam was easy as it’s very similar to the previous years. 232 was a huge leap from econ241 so you can’t assume you’ll automatically do well if you did well in 241. Most other Australian uni’s don’t teach 232 topics until 3rd year so expect 232 to be a difficult unit that requires a good amount of work to get D/HD.

An interesting subject. This has a different feel to most courses. It is based around regression analysis and breaking assumptions, how to detect them, and how to deal with them. The assignment is quite challenging, as it requires a lot of critical thinking, but it can be done. This is a course you need to work on often, put in time and learn how to detect each case, and then how to deal with them. The final exam is similar each year, so have a look early on in the course and see how each topic is tested - this will help immensely!
