I loved this unit, the content was super interesting and the lecturer (Lisa Wynn) is really entertaining and made me enjoy learning. There are no tutorials, only lectures which saves a lot of time if you have a full study load. There are also no essays which I really liked, you just do weekly quizzes and two exams which were all easy to do well in. I really recommend this subject!

This unit has high reviews for a reason. Lisa Wynn is a great lecturer, content is super interesting and assignments are easy (weekly quizzes with plenty of time, and a mid-sem and final online exam). I truly have no complaints whatsoever and if you take it as an elective, spend time enjoying everything you learn.

Did this in Session 3, 2019. An average unit but can't complain because I put little to no effort into studying it and still managed to get a D. Based off this I'm sure if you actually study and regularly revise it would be extremely easy to attain a HD! It's a great choice to do over the summer if you want to get ahead on units or even catch up. Overall, an easy unit to do well in.

[Session 3, 2019] It was an ok unit. It's very easy to do well (particularly in session 3), so I'd recommend it if you're looking to boost your marks. Most of the marks were from online exams which were completely open-book, although there's a lot of reading to do and it's all assessable. I mostly liked the content, but some of it was a bit weird; the lecture with the police officer was confusing to me because he seemed to be basing all of his points on arguments that the first half of the unit had already debunked. From what other people have said, I think doing it in session 3 was a good call, as long as you can manage your time well.

Awesome lecturer and very interesting unit. Can't recommended this unit highly enough.

All I can say is amazing, amazing lecturer!

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

Easy subject to do well in, particularly if you are from a science discipline. Probably would recommend that you don't do it externally, though.

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2016

Did this is as a planet unit during summer school - very easy to get a HD in. Online lectures were interesting but there are a lot of readings which are used in the mid and final exams so make sure you do all the required readings. Besides that, content was very interesting and gave an insightful perspective. Would definitely recommend as a planet unit. Also love you can do it as an external unit and definitely recommend this as its well run and easy to follow.
