I have never enjoyed a unit so much. The practicals were really helpful in developing my understanding of archaeological processes like drawing, measuring, surveying and excavating. Working in the simulated pit was worth the wait as it's an invaluable tool for students to refine their excavation strategy and techniques over the semester. Yann was a great mentor who gave us the freedom to make decisions but would always jump in and offer advice on how it could be done better if we needed help, were unsure or stuck.
