Reviews

This course has a very high workload and is the highest level of the first-year stats courses, however with persistent effort, it can be managed and most can grasp the contents and do reasonably well. There is a lot of face to face time (3 lectures a week) and this can be hard to manage. Make sure you stay on top of the workload and try to attend as many tutorials as possible, as tutorials provide a forum for discussion and there are problem sets which are helpful to do.

Good choice for understanding stats

Despite the relatively high fail rate, this is not a difficult unit. However, I found the lecture material somewhat elementary, and would recommend consolidating your knowledge using textbooks. Go over the relevant textbook questions EVERY WEEK and attend ALL your tutorials. This sounds tedious but it will allow you much more time to go over past papers!

You will survive if u do tutorial questions twice before exam :)

Its a tough subject with a high fail rate but if you stick to studying regularly and making notes, revising content often and staying on top of all your homework, it will be fine!
