I found it quite difficult. Fast paced, a lot of content and theory that needs to be grasped early on. Weekly quizzes counted for 10% and it made a difference knowing the content and understanding how to do problems prior to the labs. If you’re struggling early on, get a tutor!

Content can sometimes be too much all in one go. Some concepts require extra time/ effort to understand. Practice exams definitely help, but if you're unlucky, Marty might decide to change the difficulty of the exam and it could be completely different to past exams.

This unit goes throw a number of different techniques for hypothesis testing, usually a new one each week. In that sense it does move quite quickly, so you need to stay on top of it each week. My advice would be to get a good understanding of conditional probability and Bayes' theorem early on, that tends to throw a lot of students off at the first exam.

This is a great, well organised unit. It has a lot of contact hours though, 6 hours a week. For Maths Applications kids, prepare to study hard to do well in this unit. For methods/spec kids-you already know 2/3 of the content so prepare for a cruisey, very minimal study HD.

Super easy HD if you can do basic maths methods/3CD probability

Marcus the lecturer teaches pretty well and cares about improving based on the feedback given. He reviews what people misunderstood during tests to prepare them for the exams. The tutorials taught me so much even when i got behind on the lecture material.Probably the most enjoyable math unit I've taken.

The pace is good. Learnt a lot. If you have trouble, ask your tutors or the lecturer, they are more than willing to help.

The course requires a lot of contact hours and can get quite intensive, but the content of the course isnt very difficult and it is quite easy to study for the exams as they rely heavily on past papers.

Was a bit difficult at times but the final exam is much easier! Lecturer was really chill. Practice a lot using the past exam papers, they really help
