A highly interesting unit for any student interested in health and the way the Australian and global economy impacts on its delivery and outcomes. This unit truly encourages you to think outside of the square in a way far better than any "broadening units" I have taken during my time at UWA. Tutorials follow a different relevant health sector issue each week, from the ageing population to Direct-to-consumer-advertising, allowing for a thorough understanding of the many ways in which economics affects our health system. Furthermore, the tutor/lecturer is evidently very interested in student success, creating interesting lectures and methods for enhancing student understanding - most notably through his magic tricks. Assessments are clear-cut and with study, a high distinction is readily achievable. I cannot more highly recommend this unit.
