I was in the Faces stream, I didn't really feel that well-prepared for some of the intricacies of the report, while the general things to note were all provided, a more insightful marking key specific to the stream report would have been more helpful.

Good unit, I enjoyed being able to choose a topic that I was interested in, it made it that much easier to stay engaged with the content and I liked being able to learn a bit more in depth about the research process and the topic I'd picked. Staying engaged paid off, hardly anyone would show up to the topic lectures so it was a good opportunity to talk to senior lecturers and get your questions answered. The group assignment was thankfully not weighted too heavily, but the report was pretty big - even though I'd stayed on top of everything I still had to rush to get it submitted on time. The shared main lectures were a bit hit and miss, often the content didn't really relate to any of the assessments and I felt like they were just filling in time with content that I wouldn't ever need again - there were some good tips for reviewing the literature and writing reports though, so it wasn't all bad. This is a good unit if you know that you like psychology research and intend to apply for honours/postgrad, but it's probably not suited to everyone.
