This unit feels like a stretch to make this material a whole semesters worth. Graham Brown is a great lecturer in his parts as ever, however the unit in general is average. It often felt a little disconnected at times and tedious. In assessments tutors/markers tend to have certain personal preferences in regards to insignificant elements such as phrasing or formatting (beyond the general rules that all units have). Essays are pretty harshly marked if you don’t fit the exact structure and expectations. Less attention paid to the content and more to what tutors ‘like’ to see. This becomes important when the majority of the unit mark is made up of essays. Not an easy high marking unit just because it has no exam.
