Very good unit. Unlike several mathematics units at UWA, the content is taught rigorously, which I appreciate. The lecturer is new, and took a bit to gain confidence in presentation, but overall was a fantastic lecturer who was able to consistently answer questions on the topic in a precise and informative manner. The exam being closed book is quite brutal. When I took this unit, every set of questions started with 2 sections of the form "State X theorem" or "Write the definition of Y", and if you can't recall these perfectly then the entirety of that section (of which there were only four) is locked off from you. You'll benefit from drilling the important definitions and theorems in during the semester, and hopefully in future there will be more practice material.
