Bit of a disorganised unit taught in the second half of semester 1. Consisted of 10 renal lectures (quite easy) and 26 head and neck lectures (very hard). While the renal lectures were very interesting, they should have been scrapped and the unit should have faced solely on head and neck. Lectures ranged in number from 5/6/7 a week with some of the anatomy lectures going for up to 1.5 hours. Head and neck anatomy requires lots of additional study. The anatomy pre-recorded lectures dated back as far as 2018 and were actually ANHB2217 lectures, not even meant for this unit. Really need to attend labs to get your head around this module. Our assignment consisted of an infographic which most people created on canva. Marked pretty easily IMO, easy to HD. The renal and head and neck tests weren't too bad, but cramming 21 H&N lectures into your study for a small test is honestly so much stress. I think this unit needs a bit of a restructure.

This unit was very very poorly organised, and was very lazy. The topics were all over the place, with renal being rather easy and pain free, but head and neck being an absolute pain, especially the neuroanatomy, which was 11/10 difficult. There were absolutely no new lectures, everything was from previous years, and some weren't even made for IMED3002. The infographic assignment was not hard, but I would argue is unfair because not all of us have access to professional level software, and therefore, most people produced the same 7 templates from Canva. The MCQ tests were not too bad. The exam was also not too bad, with the MCQ section just being a longer in semester test. but the SAQs were extremely specific, and assessed stuff that showed up on one slide in one lecture. We were also provided with basically no formatives, and the ones we were given did not adequately prepare us for the exam, and felt like we were being set to fail. Absolutely poorly run unit.

Some interesting concepts in this unit. Neuro is definitely the most challenging part of the unit.

Very time consuming unit, wouldn't recommend it outside of Medical science major if they even let you do that. Interesting content but full on.

Not too difficult to HD. Hardest topic would have to be neuro- make sure you study this well in advance.
