The course is full of vague contents which can be aquired through online searching of "how to write". Does not worth of your dollors.

This unit is actually called introduction to academic writing. easy credit, put some effort and get a distinction, HD requires effort and also depends on your tutor and his/her writing style

A really well taught unit of study. This department puts together excellent resources, teaching aids and tutors to ensure all students have an interesting and rewarding learning experience. I found this to be a good course to do well in if I attended lectures, tutorials and engaged with the materials.

Alyssa is a very sociable lecturer who made the class engaging and fun! The course is easy to follow, and the assessments are fun to do, since you can write about your interests and what you're passionate about. You learn how to communicate clearly and effectively, and appreciate how writing is a skill for everyone. Words are very powerful, and it took careful consideration of the rhetorical situation to see that. There is also a lot of help and support available; the staff are great. Alyssa is very responsive to feedback, and it was much appreciated (such as more emphasis on style and method concepts in the lecture slides, and playing music before class!) It was one of the best elective courses I've taken, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Good subject if you're looking for fairly easy marks, but the content is very dry and in my experience the tutorials were dull. However, a lot of help is available if required as staff is good.
