Reviews

I really would not recommend taking this unit unless you're looking for a bludgy unit that doesn't require much work. The unit is completely online (some OLE's have face-to-face tutorials) where you'll be using ArcGIS Online. The first two modules are about Spatial Interpolation and Pattern Analysis. Here, you'll be following a guide on Canvas that will give you step-by-step instructions on what to do. The third and fourth modules use Google Earth Engine and were about using GIS to model area loss due to sea level rise. Again, a step-by-step guide will tell you the code inputs that you need to use in an attempt for you to get an idea of how to use Google Earth Engine (you really learn nothing though and the modules end up becoming an exercise on how to copy-and-paste code into the engine). This unit has only one short (and quite easy) assessment so the time commitment for this unit is low. Anyone who has experience using GIS and is looking for a worthwhile GIS OLE unit should consider OLET2614 instead.
