This was in online covid time so someone had the brilliant idea to deliver prerecorded lectures + no live tutorials + all group work. This was impossible to deal with and I was changing groups so much because people kept leaving, not making an effort to communicate, not doing the work or consistently doing it wrong. My friend kept messaging her tutor but the tutor was too busy posting on instagram to reply or help us out with these groups issues. The lecturer and a minority of tutors dont seem to care about this unit and its a shame because the unit has potential to be fun. You can still get good marks but not without your back hurting from carrying the group and the administration.

Terrible organisation. Mandatory group assignment which they claim will be filtered through a final peer assessment to assure slackers don't get full marks - this never occurred. Material was either too complex and filled with pointless jargon, or was incredibly dull. Several of the readings were written or reviewed by the lecturer - so definitely no bias there. Weekly videos were boring, uncreative and obviously low-budget - no effort to make their content interesting. Tedious, out-of-date, and a huge waste of money and time.

Despite its useless, shallow, over-intellectualised, and disorganised content, this unit is a WAM booster. Got a HD with little effort. You just need to make sure you join a competent, dedicaded group for the assignment.

The subject says it has classes, but it consists of three tiny lectures. Nobody really went to the second and third lectures. No dedicated classes or tutorials for group work, so there's no scheduled time for people to meet up (people have jobs and need the timetable) and do the insane 50%-of-your-mark group project. Content is shallow, most people in your group will be using it as a WAM booster so have fun.

the content is really interesting, but your grade in this ole is completely based on whether you get groupmates that will actually do their part of the work. 50% for a group project with random people you just met is very painful. doing this with people you know would probably be fun though. doing it with people who don't even show up to meetings and tell you they won't come five minutes before you scheduled it is not fun. you don't even get to peer review people so people who wrote the equivalent of one sentence get a decent mark. tutors were also not consistent in their requirements for the group project and often had contradicting remarks. really great ole in theory but not really in practice. hope it's better next semester.
