Julie Leask taught the subject horribly, deffs should be fired and replaced with someone who would actually want to teach and do some work educating students. If you are going to regurgitate the worlds and read of the power point slides word for work then why bother lecturing and just let us read to slides as your not clearly teaching us at all and should just get out of teaching as it is not your forte at all.

The unit coordinator and tutor discriminated towards me and was not accommodating at all. This subject definitely needs a overhaul restructuring of the staff ASAP so it is taught more structurally sound and cohesively in an enthusiastically helpful non judgmental manner not dull like. Information was not precisely taught and needs to be straight forward to the point then all this fluffing around beating around the bush nonsense.

I have not even started my degree and the semester, and already have issues with the unit coordinators lack of organization skills of the unit structure layout in the canvas site as things not clearly labelled, very messy communications with things not being edited properly and not finalized until last minute, poorly selected articles for readings that are different on weekly tabs and on reading list, which many of them are not to the point and just going around in circles making readings harder than they need to be. Not sure who wrote the reviews that are positive, but clearly seem to be inebriated with delusions or the teachers themselves for this class as this is a waste of time of a subject and should not have to pay for it on my hecs.

I CANNOT RATE IT 5 STARS. BUT STUDENTS MUST PUT IN WORK, ATTEND LECTURES AND DO PERSONAL RESEARCH TO PASS THIS UNITS.

Having done HSBH1008 in the previous semester, this wasn't anything new, but if you're studying the social determinants of health for the first time, it's pretty interesting stuff. Looking at health from a sociological perspective really broadens your understanding of health and how to approach patients, which will really come in handy during a career in health.
