Had 2 lecturers when I did it, one was amazing one was so dry. Assignments were very fun, so much freedom in topics and ideas. Tutorials were okay at times but mostly just discussions, not very practical but good intro.

Content is engaging and worth learning. Score is fine if you study hard, I got 77

Really great, introductory subject! Honestly, the lectures this year were kind of all over the place, but the assessments make it all worth it. You have a lot of freedom when it comes to choosing your topics and how you wanna do it. Not too dry of a subject because there are always lots of activities in the tutorials, even online! I really recommend.

The lectures are highly theoretical at the beginning but we learned some helpful content in the later parts, still I find them quite boring. The tutorials are engaging and I enjoyed discussing with other students (my tutor Julian is absolutely amazing!!). My favorite part of the subject is the assignments -- they allowed for a lot of freedom and are suitable for students who are up-to-date with current social issues and enjoy critical analysis. I got to choose and write about any issues I find interesting so really appreciate it. Not too strict in terms of marking. I didn't do most of the readings, they are not necessary to pass except for the ones you actually reference in your essays.

Bonus if you get a lecturer who knows how to write in proper english on their lecture slides. Sadly I did not.

Quite a good introduction subject. Some lectures can be a bit boring and tutorial discussions a bit bland. But the assessments are easy and the subject as a whole is not very content heavy.

Highly politicized, but also quite interesting. The first half of the course is highly theoretical and so dry. It definitely picks up towards the end.

Very interesting subject but there is a disconnect between the level of content of the subject and the level of content expected in the assignments. You could participate in tutorial discussions all semester but if you include the same discussions in your assignments, they would not be H1-worthy.

If you like writing analysis type essays and have some general knowledge on media's impact on society. This is an eassssy H1 subject. Lectures can be boring and readings are way too long. Only did the required readings for my assessments. Got an 86! Pretty interesting subject overall, as most of it was subjective.

Well-coordinated and interesting subject. I enjoyed it a lot. I particularly liked Benjamin's lectures as he is eloquent and passionate, and his lectures are easy to follow. I got an 87.
