Great subject and shoutout to Teresa as she was an amazing lecturer. Assessments were fair and easy to do well in if you studied. My only issue would be that you can’t use kanji that hasn’t been taught yet as if you’ve studied Japanese in school (especially VCE) you were taught to include as much as you know as your knowledge expands, and actively trying not to write kanji for basic verbs and words is hard and lost me some points despite everything else being right.

Much well structured than compared to JAPN10001, easy to score high too if you know your conjugations and grammar, nothing too difficult.

poorly coordinated but overall easy subject to score well

Much the same as Japanese 1 (JAPN10001). Well taught, grammar can be a bit challenging but as long as you prepare for the quizzes each fortnight you should stay on top of everything. All the assessments are good fun and not too challenging as long as you give yourself enough time. My tutors were very engaging, fun and kind.

fun and engaging. grammar is rather challenging but manageable. cultural discovery project is group work and involves an essay piece in Japanese, so it was pretty challenging.

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2016

Fairly fun but quite poorly coordinated and the tutors aren't necessarily great.

Very good subject! Key for this is to keep on top of the weekly kanji and grammar, if these are revised well and consistently then the exam is a breeze.

Pretty easy to score, if you revise your grammar and kanji etc consistently and do well in the fortnightly quizzes. Good subject!
