This unit has a looooot of content. The weekly reading is often 4 chapters of the textbook, of which the unit coordinator insists is all important and must be read. The lectures (and slides) are much more useful for students. The assessments for the unit includes a quiz and an assignment, followed by a final exam. The quiz was fine, but the assignment was a bit harder, and some of the knowledge required to get a good grade in the assignment was actually not taught in the relevant topic. When told about this, the unit coordinator was indifferent. (At least the final exam was quite fair - though like the assignment was probably marked too harshly), Hence, the two major problems with the unit are: (1) the vast volume of content that you are expected to learn - note-taking takes forever. (2) the unit coordinator. Dr. Varayudej has poor communication and teaching skills, and is quite indifferent to the learning outcomes of students. His tutorials are not particularly helpful either.
