USYD Science Tutor Alex

Alex is a fantastic tutor for stats. He has the ability to explain these complicated and abstract concepts with such precision that you not only understand them, but you avoid major pitfalls that you may have otherwise fallen into. I achieved a distinction in third year stats after barely passing second year stats, and Alex’s tutoring was a great contributor to that. Could not recommend him enough as a tutor.

I am in my 4th year of psychology. I found my tuition sessions with Alex to be really useful for understanding the underlying concepts and fixing errors I wouldn’t otherwise have picked up on. I particularly liked the practical approach of using SPSS together and watching Alex demonstrate how to use SPSS as well. This helped me better understand how to use the software, which was always one of the trickier parts of stats for me. I received a High Distinction as my final grade and 92/100 for my lab report! I highly recommend Alex as a tutor for Statistics.

Alex is an exceptional tutor, a natural teacher he combines his extreme intelligence and in-depth knowledge of statistics with a kind, patient and understanding manner. He has the great ability of being able to take complex statistical information and transforming it into language that you are able to understand and comprehend, almost like magic he will make statistics enjoyable, he is definitely a Statistics Alchemist. Through the process of Alex’s tutoring and his positive and encouraging attitude I now have a clearer and deeper understanding of statistics and greater confidence in my abilities and myself as a university student. Alex is a statistics genius! I caught up with him each week during the semester, he explained things clearly and really helped to strengthen my understanding of the content.
