UniMelb Business Tutor Summer

Master of Management (ACCT&FNCE) - Current WAM 87.44 Hi! I’m Summer, currently completing a Master of Management (Accounting and Finance) at the University of Melbourne, with a current WAM of 87+ (H1). I previously completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University, majoring in Accounting and Financial Planning, where I graduated with High Distinction and was recognised on the Dean’s Merit List. I offer tutoring in Accounting, Finance and related business subjects, from introductory university concepts to more advanced topics. My academic strengths include - Treasury Management: 92 (1st in a cohort of 119) - Fundamentals of Portfolio Management: 96 (1st of 101), - Investment Management: 91 - Project Finance: 90 (top 3% of 161 students). I also have previous tutoring and peer-mentoring experience. My teaching style focuses on understanding rather than memorising. I like to break difficult concepts into simple steps, explain the reasoning behind formulas and accounting treatments, and then work through practical examples until the student can approach similar questions independently. I’m also happy to adapt sessions around your specific needs - whether that is catching up on difficult topics, weekly study support, exam preparation, or working through practice questions. Having studied both at Deakin and the University of Melbourne, I understand the expectations of Australian university business subjects and can also share practical approaches to exam preparation, problem-solving and effective study techniques that have worked well throughout my own studies. I am friendly, patient and genuinely enjoy helping students understand concepts they may initially find intimidating. Online and in-person tutoring in Melbourne are both available, subject to location and schedule. My standard tutoring rates are $50/hour per person for individual sessions, $40/hour/person for groups of 2, and $35/hour/person for groups of 3-4. I’m also happy to discuss arrangements for regular sessions.
