English was consistently both my most frustrating and weakest subject where I'd blame subjective markers, vague feedback, and never really knowing what the examiner actually wanted. I know what it's like to get an essay back and have no idea what to actually fix. Yet after one shift in how I approached the subject, I scored my first full marks in Year 9 Term 3. This then carried to consistent 18-20/20's across Years 9, 10, and 11, ranking 11th out of 257 students in English Advanced at Knox and winning the Prize for Creative Writing. The momentum carried into English Extension, scoring 40/40 on individual tasks, with an internal rank of 10 and an E4 (Top Band) in the HSC. The same system, applied to every single task from Year 9 through to the HSC, and the same system I teach. I also achieved Band 6 in Economics and Mathematics Advanced at Knox, where I studied Extension 1 Maths, Chemistry, and Physics as well.
