ANU Science Tutor Mitchell
Hi! I'm Mitch. I recently completed my Honours program in the Bachelor of Advanced Computing at ANU. I'm currently working as a software engineer.

I have previous private tutoring experience, as well as officially tutoring COMP1110 (twice), COMP2300, COMP2310, and COMP2610. I have also assisted with the testing and design of assessment material, as well as redesigning labs for improved learning experience (I like my labs interactive!).
My focus in CS lies in AI and Systems - the later year courses I teach will be mostly from those specialisations.
I also study Psychology! (Bach. Science (Psychology)). I can offer the most help in the statistics courses, but please reach out if you would like tutoring for other courses - I'll see what I can do.

My preferred style of teaching is to customise lessons for each student. Ahead of time, students will collect some questions or problems they would like to discuss. During class, we can go over your thoughts and ideas already tried. We should rarely discuss problems you haven't already found frustrating - if you're frustrated, you're interested :).
Other lessons can involve reviewing past papers, and going over exams and assessments returned to the student. There are other approaches to learning that involve lightly overviewing topics /before/ encountering them in coursework, but tbh chatGPT can do that job just fine.
-----
Preferred tutoring setup would be either on ANU campus or online. Happy to do a free 20-minute vibe check to discuss learning goals before starting lessons.
If you are interested in any courses not listed, feel free to reach out! Some courses (e.g. compiler construction) are new and not listed here.
