Non-Science Background Tutor for GAMSAT and MMI ⭐️Section 2 and 3 GAMSAT⭐️ ⭐️MMI Unimelb⭐️ About Me 🤓 ☑️ Second-Year CSP Student at Melbourne Medical School ☑️ 75 GAMSAT Overall Score (63/72/81) ☑️ Bachelor of Arts Graduate ☑️ 4+ Years of Tutoring Experience Hi There! I'm Hongli, a second-year medical student at the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts graduate. My style of teaching is cooperative, not didactic. I know everyone has different styles of taking in and processing information, and I believe there is no single true method of acing exams such as the GAMSAT. My approach involves learning about you and working together to find strategies that make sense to you and that you can implement instinctively. What's an Arts student doing teaching the science section of the GAMSAT, you may ask? Despite lacking a background in physics, chemistry, and biology, I was able to score an 81 in Section 3 by approaching it as a puzzle-solving and reasoning test, rather than a knowledge check. If you're struggling with this section because you feel overwhelmed by the amount of science knowledge the questions assume you possess, reach out to me and let's discuss whether my approach could work for you. If you’re preparing for the MMI, congrats on making it this far along your journey to medicine! The good news is that things only get better - preparing for the MMI can be enjoyable and enriching, helping you not only to reach your dream course but to become a more well-rounded, socially conscious, and eloquent person.  My approach for the MMI is not seeing it as a knowledge test, but an opportunity to show the medical school who you are and what makes you unique. This is informed by my undergraduate education in the Bachelor of Arts, which provided me with a rich set of communication, reasoning, and critical thinking skills that I now hope to pass on to you.  What will our lessons involve? 📒 Free 15-minute chat about your background and expectations 📒 Dedicated sessions discussing the format of the interview and what the Melbourne Medical School is looking for 📒 Practice S2 + S3 questions and full run-throughs  📒 Insight into ways to prepare for your interview, with a comprehensive and clear list of tasks for you to complete after every session My goal is to provide you with insight and clarity regarding what the interview involves, with a clear path to success. Most importantly, we will discuss discrete things you can do outside of our sessions to prepare for the interview. I offer both online and in-person tutoring on Parkville campus at the same rates. My rates are $80 per hour for individual tutoring and $50 per student, per hour for groups of two.  If you’re looking to elevate your confidence in Section 3 and in the interview, reach out to me for a free 15-minute consultation!
