UNSW Engineering Tutor Amirul

Amirul tutored me for COMP2521, and his tutoring made a noticeable difference to both my understanding and confidence in the course. I found some of the core topics, such as algorithms quite hard at first. One of the most valuable aspects of his teaching was how he tailored each session to what I needed. He paid close attention to where I was getting stuck and adjusted his approach accordingly, whether that meant slowing things down, revisiting fundamentals, or focusing more on exam-style practice. He made sure I understood the logic behind the code and how to apply the same thinking to new problems. He also explained theory content in a very structured and detailed way, which helped make complex ideas feel much more manageable. I never felt rushed during sessions, and he was always willing to go over things again until I was comfortable. Amirul tutored me in COMP2511 (Object Oriented Programming and Design). He managed to figure out exactly where my weaknesses lay and came up with a comprehensive study plan to get me back on track in time for the final exam. He explained concepts easily and clearly and did not deter even when I took quite a while to understand things. It would not be a stretch to say he's the reason I didn't fail this course.
