USC Science Tutor Kayla

I am a Mathematics Tutor with nine years experience, providing professional online tuition. In 2020, I graduated university at UniSC with a Bachelor of Creative Industries, GPA 6.63. I completed MTH104 at UniSC with a raw score of 97/100. I graduated High School in 2016, with an ATAR of 97.60. Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Mathematics / Bachelor of Science at UQ, with a major in pure mathematics. My previous tutoring experience includes working as a Mathematics 2IC at a tutoring centre, study leader at the University of the Sunshine Coast, tutoring marker at Kumon Australia, and a peer tutor during high school. I also hold a current QLD Blue Card (Working with Children Check). I offer tutoring for UniSC Maths courses MTH104, MTH103, TPP104 and TPP115, as well as LANTITE Numeracy preparation. In addition, tutoring sessions are also available for homeschooling students. I follow the Australian curriculum and map every students’ lesson to their course outline, so that tutoring is focused on the students’ current goals. Catch-up topics can also be incorporated into the lessons. Tutoring sessions are online via Zoom and run for one hour. I use Zoom’s whiteboard feature to visually demonstrate Maths topics. Students are also able to write on the whiteboard, allowing a collaborative approach to Maths problems, where we can solve questions together, which increases students understanding of the topic through active participation. Google Docs is also used to share resources and files. In my work as a tutor, I hope to create positive impacts in students’ lives and inspire a love for learning.
