Hello! My name is Michael and I am a medical student at the University of Sydney I recently scored an unweighted 73 (96th percentile) in the March 2023 GAMSAT with a Section 2 score of 86 (99.75th percentile). This is despite coming from a non-humanities and non-English speaking background. I believe that Section 2 is an important part of GAMSAT and that most applicants can score highly. This is important as many medical schools are pivoting towards using unweighted GAMSAT to rank applicants, such as UNDA, UQ, UOM, USYD. Many section 2 specific skills carry over to other aspects of medical admissions, such as CASPER I dedicated my preparation to mastering a high-yield, simple, and mechanical approach to Section 2. My aim is to help you express YOUR authentic writing style and ideas within the confines of the psychometric properties and effective communication that ACER want you to demonstrate.
