UniMelb Business Tutor Paul

Hi there! I'm Paul. I've just finished UniMelb's double master's program with Universita' Bocconi in Milan (109/110): Master of International Business and Master of Science in Marketing Management. I wrote my thesis on strategic brand management and market entry for Australian sparkling white wine in the European Union. This included quantitative analysis through SPSS, so I can also assist with research methods subjects. I have been tutoring since 2018 and love it. During my undergrad, I worked as a university academic mentor for two years and as a note-taker in my final semester. I would like to continue tutoring despite having graduated. I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing students succeed and develop academic confidence, so my rate is pretty low. I'd like to keep quality academic support accessible. I'm a strong advocate for critical thinking skills and typically ask students questions as we step through a problem. This is to identify areas of improvement and any knowledge gaps. I take a collaborative approach to problem solving and work with students to find answers, rather than just giving it to them. I've been complimented for my patience in academic mentoring and understand that everyone has different learning paces and styles. Please feel free to talk to me about yours! I'm happy to tutor 1-on-1 or in small groups of up to 3 people. I want everyone to feel included and engaged so I limit participants to 3.
