This unit is a great way to get a good feel for Linux as a development environment and expand your knowledge of operating system structures. Unfortunately the lectures are not particularly informative (the delivery is poor). If you want a head start in this subject it might be handy to set up a Linux installation on an old laptop or dual boot with windows (just to develop a feel for the content without getting too ahead of yourself).
