Description

I used these LLB2230 notes to achieve a final result of 86% in this challenging subject (top 2-3% of the LLB cohort). My notes include both substantive legal rules/cases to address problem questions AND theorist views/essay-type content to answer the essay question for the exam too. I have structured the notes using a variety of techniques including bullet points, tables and flow charts for the clearest understanding of the subject content. Topics covered include: • Introduction to Administrative Law, including key concepts ( separation of powers) • Functions of Federal Executive Agencies, Federal Courts etc. • Nature and Framework of Merits Review • Procedure, Evidence and the role of policy in Merits Review • Judicial Review- Framework and Jurisdictional Limitations, judicial vs executive power • Standing • Unauthorised Decisions, Legality and Jurisdictional Error • Unauthorised Purpose, Considering Irrelevant Matters, Failure to consider Relevant Matters • Wednesbury unreasonableness, Procedural Fairness (general principles and rule against bias) • Procedural Fairness (right to a hearing) • Remedies in Administrative Law
