High quality, concise KAT5 GEL1 Summary Notes

These notes are high quality summaries of content from the GEL1 block, made in preparation for KAT5 (2021). Subjects covered include respiratory, cardiovascular, general surgery, MSK and endocrine disease management. Content has been derived from SMP year 2 online videos, lectures, clinical/investigations tutorials, CBLs and surgical grand rounds, AND relevant year 1 content has been included (as this is also assessed on the exam). SMP content has been supplemented with AMBOSS and textbook information ( ECG made easy, general surgery texts, Talley). The summaries are concise and clearly divided into disease aetiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation (symptoms and signs), investigations and management. Useful tables are included where appropriate, as well as ECG and X-ray images. --> UPDATE: these have been removed due to copyright issues, my apologies. But I've outlined their sources so you can easily find them. In KAT5 (GEL1) I received 90% for medicine and 72% for surgery. I changed my approach to the surgical content for KAT8 (GEL4), and received 93% for medicine and 82% for surgery - tips for hot surgery topics to focus on to boost your marks are included in the intro of this document.
